We love it when our friends become successful

One of the best things about blogging is being able to tell other people when your friends do cool stuff. Granted, the only people who read this blog are my friends, but it’s the thought — and the links — that counts.

Two former MKE’ers have expanded their online shadow, and they’re worth checking out:

  • Training With Tim at Milwaukee Magazine The World Wide Web phenomenon that is Tim Cigelske now has a home at Milwaukee Magazine. If you’re not familiar with what Tim does, he makes you feel really guilty about not exercising and sitting on your ass all day. Well, that’s not what he sets out to do, but it’s what you’ll feel when he talks about all cycling and running and generally healthy activity he crams into a day. He recently just finished a Denver-to-Milwaukee bike trip (which you can read about at his blog). Also, he’s a great writer when it comes to capturing people, and he’s the person who’s motivated me to do more online (did I mention his Teecycle venture, too?). Tim, along with Nikol Hasler, actually gives Milwaukee Magazine’s Web site content worth reading.
  • Geek@Heart Fellow geek Dave Lee has restarted his MKE blog, Geek@Heart, which focused a lot on videogaming as well as some of his other geek interests. Right now, the blog will be at this site for at least 14 days (after that, he’ll have to pay for the service). Hopefully, he’ll keep it going past that because I’ve always looked to Dave to keep my gaming knowledge at levels sufficient enough to maintain my geek membership. Oh, and you can also check out Dave at GotGame, where he’s “interning” as a game blogger (here’s his latest post, which I quite enjoy).

As more people from the MKE days keep starting new things, I’ll keep spreading the word. Ideally, I’d love to be able to write something that says we’ll be getting the band back together, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. But I can dream.

  • Great to see you found a home for your writing. Miss you. Lets get together soon. I think I owe you a drink.
